PT MUGU ATTENDEES "LIKE" SHAKA LAKA!

Attendance at the 2011 NBVC Point Mugu Surf Contest presented by Quiksilver was solid. Good people, good atmosphere, and good fun. The surfing community came out to access one of the best waves Southern California has to offer, and the NBVC was again a super host, making everyone feel welcome to their home.

Musical acts were great and kept the vibe extremely chill throughout the entire event. Everything from classic surf and modern covers to rock n' roll and some jammin' reggae. Food selections outside of the catering consisted of fried twinkles, popcorn, and Chiquita taking care of the snacks.

Surfing is still center stage at this event.  The crowds quickly jump off the bus and boogie to the rocky grandstands to practically sit in the waves as the participants shred their best in hopes of obtaining the coveted PT MUGU ammo trophy (that's right trophies made of huge caliber ammo!)

This year was a great experience for the Shaka Laka team.  Fans came back excited to see the new product offerings and pick up some of their classic favorites. We offered up a few new products this year including the new DropIn rubbah watches with interchangeable faces, Shaka hats, shirts, and tattoos. Also kept the give away going for our fourth straight year, donating thousands of Lip Blaka and Sun Blaka lotions to the troops and civilians.

We thank all those who made the event possible and look forward to next year.  We also thank those who took the time to LIKE Shaka on their fb accounts - get ready for the polls, contests, and giveaways coming soon. Mahalos!
